Danske Bank

Refreshed Visual Identity, Design System/Activation, Digital Design
2024

In a rapidly evolving digital world, Danske Bank has unveiled a refreshed visual identity that balances its rich heritage with modern demands. The new design system meets the needs of a digital-first future. Inspired by the bank's iconic design from 25 years ago, the refined design is spearheaded by the separation of the name and boxes from the bank’s previous logo, creating a simpler, more contemporary expression while maintaining recognizability. The introduction of a 'progress bar' symbol and an updated typeface reflects the bank’s mission to drive sustainable progress and reliability as it moves forward in a changing world.

As part of the Kontrapunkt team, I worked closely with Danske Bank through weekly meetings and check-ins to ensure alignment and progress. My primary focus was designing and defining a flexible layout system that could be seamlessly applied across both physical and digital touchpoints, including out-of-home (OOH) advertising, HTML5 digital banners, and social media platforms. I played a key role in developing a consistent and cohesive design system that supports the bank’s refreshed visual identity across all channels, ultimately delivering the system in comprehensive guidelines.
